Terrorism in France - Sebastian Marx stand-up comedian video

I, like everyone else, was horrified by the terrorist attacks in Nice recently. However I don't believe it's a reason to stop living and travelling in France. We can't let these guys win!

I know it's not a funny topic but I just came across this really funny video. You need to understand French to watch it.

Sebastian Marx is an American expat living in Paris and he speaks French pretty well!

An article bilingue

I came across this post. It's quite funny. See if you can read it! Written by a Quebecois with both English and French in each sentence.

His article starts off with...

Like beaucoup de Montréalais, I’m bilingual.
And j’ai realisé that there were no bilingual publications à Montréal, which means there were never aucun bilingual articles. So j’ai décidé d’écrire the world’s first article bilingue that you could read without stopping to think.

Inspecteur Gadget

The other day I was having a conversation and Inspector Gadget was mentioned. I said this was one of my favourite childhood cartoons to watch growing up. I guess some of my readers might remember this show?

I did not know it was a French-Canadian-American collaboration and one of the animators, Bruno Bianchi is French-Italian.

I remember wanting Penny's computer book... how funny that they now exist! ;)

Anyway, he was very popular in France. You can watch it on Youtube. I've linked the first episode below. It should continue onto the second, third, etc video in the playlist.

He cracks me up even more in French!!

Here are their French names:

Penny is called Sophie in the French version.
Brain (the dog) is called Finot in the French version.
Dr. Claw is called Docteur Gang
MAD cat is called Madchat
Chief Quimby is called Inspecteur-chef Gontier

Inspector Gadget French version
Theme Song lyrics

Eh là qui va là
Inspecteur Gadget
Eh la ça va pas
Ouh ouh
Oh la je suis là
Inspecteur Gadget
C'est moi que voilà
Inspecteur Gadget
Ça va être la joie
Ouh ouh
Au nom de la loi
Moi je vous arrête
Je vous arrête là
Go go
Gadget à main
Flash
Gadget au chapeau
Hey ho
Gadget au poing
Oh la
Elastico-Gadget
Les bandits sont là
Inspecteur Gadget
Ils n'échapperont pas
Ouh ouh
Si l'inspecteur fait gaffe
Fait gaffe aux gadgets
Qui marchent ou marchent pas

Europe's median age from 1960 to 2060

I came across this infographic today which I found pretty scary. I can envisage all sorts of problems due to an ever ageing population :(  Since I'm sure most of us will still be around in 2060 it's a problem we're all going to have to deal with...but at least we'll still have plenty of old friends around us!

If the video does not play, you can see it here.
